Our president and CEO, Julia Fraser Berg, administers publishing and licensing rights for Berg Music Group through the J. Fraser Collection, LLC, and finalizes contracts for concerts, new album projects and other music productions.

Performing & Presenting

 

Concerts provide a profound energy loop between artist and audience that only a live performance can deliver. Our executive director, pianist Shelly Berg, offers joy-filled programming in styles ranging from baroque to modern, stride to standards, and beyond. He is a popular guest soloist with symphony orchestras for timeless works such as Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue as well as his own expressive compositions, and appears as a headliner at jazz festivals and major venues.

Composing & Arranging

 

Whether composing a commissioned work, or writing a new song for a recording session, Shelly Berg is an invaluable collaborator. He has composed for feature films and documentaries, orchestrated for such megastars as Pharrell and Yoshiki, and created arrangements for network television productions such as The Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song and Macy’s July 4th Spectacular.

Recording & Producing

 

In addition, Shelly Berg has decades of recording and producing experience with international stars including Gloria Estefan, Renée Fleming, and Arturo Sandoval. Whether conducting his orchestrations on a motion picture sound stage, accompanying a singer in the recording studio, or overdubbing via remote set-up, Shelly delivers a beautiful track, with artistry and accuracy.

Master Teaching & Consulting

 

As the dean of the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami, Shelly Berg is known as a passionate advocate for updating music education curricula to be more experiential and relevant for the music profession today.  He’s often invited by other institutions to speak and consult on trends in higher education.
